Verónica nació y reside en Ecuador, cuyo trabajo gira en torno a la justicia social y medioambiental.

Estudió Diseño Fotográfico en el Instituto Metropolitano de Diseño (La Metro) de Quito y ha ampliado su formación mediante talleres con Santa Talleres y La Plataforma.

Su obra genera imágenes sensoriales entre la fotografía documental y la alternativa, explorando cómo los cuerpos, los paisajes son portadores de memoria y resistencia.

Sus fotografías se han expuesto en Ecuador, México, Bélgica, Estados Unidos, Italia, Países Bajos, China y Panamá. En 2020, fue seleccionada para la exposición y el fotolibro «ICP Concerned» del Centro Internacional de Fotografía de Nueva York, tras ser elegida entre más de 100 000 participantes. En 2022, fue una de las 16 finalistas de la Brazil Grant en la categoría de Arte Emergente con su proyecto «An Inward Journey». Al año siguiente, su serie «La Floresta», una investigación sobre la gentrificación, recibió una mención de honor en el Premio Photo IILA (Italo-Latino) y se expuso en el Museo de Trastevere de Roma entre octubre y noviembre de 2023. Recibió el Premio Revelación en el Premio Nacional de Fotografía de la AFE en Ecuador en 2024 y en 2026 fue seleccionada para la residencia artística de la Fundación Aceer y fue finalista en el Festival de Fotografía de Sarajevo y ganó la Beca de Guest Room with Sunyoung Kim & Shinwook – Der Greif.

Actualmente trabaja como fotógrafa autónoma.

Verónica is a photographer born and based in Ecuador, whose work is shaped by questions of social and environmental justice.
She studied Photographic Design at the Instituto Metropolitano de Diseño (La Metro) in Quito, and has expanded her training through workshops with Santa Talleres and LaPlataforma.

Her practice produces sensorial images at the intersection of documentary and alternative photography, exploring how bodies, landscapes, and systems carry memory and resistance.

Her photographs have been exhibited in Ecuador, Mexico, Belgium, the United States, Italy, the Netherlands, China, and Panama. In 2020, she was selected for the ICP Concerned exhibition and photobook at the International Center of Photography in New York, chosen from over 100,000 participants. In 2022, she was one of 16 finalists for the Brazil Grant in the Emerging Art category with her project An Inward Journey. The following year, her series La Floresta, an investigation into gentrification, received an Honorable Mention at the Photo IILA (Italo-Latino) Prize and was exhibited at the Trastevere Museum in Rome from October to November 2023. She received the Premio Revelación at the National Photography Award of the AFE in Ecuador in 2024, and in 2025, got an honorable mention at Earth Partner. And in 2026, she was selected for the Aceer Foundation Artistic Residency and was a finalist in the Sarajevo Photo Festival, and got the Guest Room with Sunyoung Kim & Shinwook Kim – Der Greif.

She currently works as a freelance photographer.
